Shallow Buttoned or Smooth Upholstered footstool workshop

My group Seagrass Footstool workshop offers you a one-day Seagrass seat weaving experience, you will go home with a beautiful woven footstool in a choice of natural finished beech wood frame, or you can have your frame painted by me in one of the choices below at a small additional cost before your course date.

Your footstool frame is british made using the highest quality beech wood and will be woven with sustainable seagrass cord. They are a fantastic additional to any scandi or mid century influenced interior. Your footstool will be small enough to finish in the day course, but a great size for your feet, obviously! Or how about using it as a beautiful house plant stand or even a little seat or step stool for a child. Finished size 30cm x 30cm x 28cm.

Choose for your frame to be painted by me before your course in a choice of colours below. This is a mat finish furniture paint which I use for all of my painted furniture. It is not a chalk paint.

I can’t emphasise enough how enjoyable this craft is. It is a heritage craft and therefore complex enough that you will feel that with no previous experience you have truly achieved a new skill by the end of the day, yet mindful enough to allow you to chat to your co attendees.

Shallow Buttoned or Smooth Upholstered Footstool Workshop

This one day course will give you the opportunity to make a beautiful upholstered footstool made with modern materials and techniques, in an informal small group setting. Choose to keep it simple and smooth, or add 8 covered buttons to create a shallow buttoned finish. I have an amazing array of upholstery fabrics to choose from which will need to be chosen before hand.

Finished footstool size approx 60cm x 30 x 28cm high. Why not make your masterpiece into an upholstered ‘coffee table’ by choosing longer legs! One meter of fabric will need to be purchased through Felicity Tran Upholstery at the additional cost of the fabric, coffee table height legs also incur a small additional cost.

Courses are run in various location throughout Bristol and North Somerset.
